Markis M. Abraham is a licensed attorney in New York and New Jersey and admitted to practice
before the United States District Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr.
Abraham focuses his law practice primarily on Real Estate, Land Use, and Zoning, Construction
Law and Real Estate Development. Mr. Abraham is also a licensed real estate salesperson in the
The state of New Jersey focused on residential and commercial sales and development. Mr.
Abraham is a native of Jersey City and works extensively throughout Hudson, Essex, Union and
Bergen Counties. Mr. Abraham attended St. Peter’s Preparatory School in Jersey City, New
Jersey, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia for his
undergraduate study, and Rutgers School of Law in Newark for law school. Mr. Abraham is a
former All-County athlete in football and basketball and was a varsity letterman in football at the
University of Pennsylvania, winning two Ivy League Football Championships.
Mr. Abraham is a past President of the Hudson County Bar Association Young Lawyers
Division and Current Trustee of the Hudson County Bar Association, he is a member of The
State of New Jersey District VI Ethics Committee, he is a Board Member for the Hudson County
Boys and Girls Clubs. Mr. Abraham is also Chief of Staff to the Honorable Hudson County
Freeholder Jeremiah Walker. Mr. Abraham has a passion for coaching and mentoring young
people and spends time as Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at St. Peter’s Preparatory School
in Jersey City. He is also the founder of Jersey City-based City Kids Elite Youth Basketball
The program, which focuses on developing middle-school youth academically, socially, and
